The Get-Together

12 - 14 November, 2013

Gothenburg, Sweden

“The task is...not so much to see what no one has yet seen; but to think what nobody has yet thought, about that which everybody sees.” Erwin Schrödinger

The Get-Together brings 13 international artists working with various mediums to be exhibited in Ataljén in Smedjegatan, Göteborg. This 200 year old building have a tradition of craftsmanships, artist studios and has been adapted to present day artistic practices.

The exhibition plays on the intimacies of a relationship between the cabinet curiosity, the collector’s home and the domestic space. These works are often only seen in pristine, perfectly angular ‘white cube’ spaces, free from associations other than the gallery and the work itself.

It is only once bought by the private collector that the work becomes shaped by the space of the private home, altering the reference points of the interior.
